NEW JIREH PROJECT CENTER 222 for MOMMA and BABY
We serve Moms and babies who:
- live in uninhabitable shacks or overcrowded homes.
- Are first time, teenage and new mothers with infants under one year.
- Are those without access to water or sewer.
Many Roma women and children exist in an environment that in hard for most of us to even fathom. They lack choice, voice and even the basic necessities for life. They often shelter in smoke filled shacks with no water, furnishings or even a toilet . Often the most basic unhealthy food is sometimes not even available.
How we serve
- We provide showers for mom and baths for infants Personal hygiene and care (hair, teeth, nails,)
- Weight and temperature checks and visual checks for rashes or injuries to refer to medical professionals.
- Use of washer and dryer for babies clothing and blankets Diapers, wipes, feminine products, vitamins
- As needed formula/milk to last 1-2 day. (Also we will promote breast feeding)
As needed and funds allow we pay for medicines and medical treatment for infant, provide maternity packets for Moms going to deliver in hospitals and pay funeral expenses for infants.
What we accomplish
Our goal is not to enable moms, but to empower them. We do not want to make them dependent on us, but expose them to a more excellent way and a hope that abundant life for them and their children is available through the gospel. Not only will we connect women with social services available, but we will assist moms to use their skills to earn money cutting hair, baking, cleaning, etc. All moms, Christian and non-Christian will have to met certain expectations in order to stay in the program as space is limited.
